You can synchronize Microsoft Outlook entities, such as appointments, and contacts, with comparable Microsoft Dynamics NAV items to keep both applications up-to-date. This enables employees like salespeople, who do not have continuous access to their company's Microsoft Dynamics NAV database, to share contact, to-do, and meeting information from off-site locations. With this functionality, you can easily update either Microsoft Dynamics NAV objects with Outlook entities or Outlook entities with Microsoft Dynamics NAV objects. Synchronization can be set up to take place automatically, or you can manually synchronize from within Outlook.

To begin the synchronization setup, decide which Microsoft Dynamics NAV objects you want to synchronize. Then set synchronization options in Outlook. These options establish where synchronized entities will be stored, how synchronization conflicts should be resolved, and when automatic synchronization should start.

The following table describes a sequence of tasks, with links to the topics that describe them. These tasks are listed in the order in which they are generally performed.
